Money Map Journal publishes practical, experience-driven personal finance content for readers across the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. We are a growing publication with many monthly visitors and a readership that trusts us because we write from real experience — not theory. If you want to write for us, this page explains exactly what we are looking for and how to pitch.
We publish content across four core categories. Every article we accept must fit naturally into one of these areas and serve our specific reader — someone who is actively working to improve their financial situation.
Google classifies personal finance as YMYL — Your Money Your Life. This means content in our niche is held to a higher standard than most topics online. We follow Google’s helpful content guidelines and E-E-A-T principles: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness.
Every article published on Money Map Journal must demonstrate that the author has real, personal experience with the topic — not just research. Our readers can tell the difference, and so can we.
When you write for a personal finance blog like ours, the bar is higher than a general content site. Here is what every accepted article must have:
To protect our readers and our reputation, we have firm rules about what we publish. The following will be rejected without review:
We are currently a growing publication and do not offer paid contributions at this stage. What contributors receive in return for a published guest post:
Send your pitch to support@moneymapjournal.com with the subject line: Guest Post Pitch — [Your Proposed Title]
Your pitch email should include the following:
We review pitches within 5 business days. If you do not hear back within that time, you are welcome to submit the idea elsewhere. We only respond to pitches that are a genuine fit — please do not follow up before 5 business days have passed.
Once your pitch is accepted, here is what happens next:
We reserve the right to edit all submissions for clarity, length, style, and SEO while preserving your voice and argument. We will notify you of any significant changes before publishing. Articles that require more than two rounds of revision may be declined.
Can I include a link to my own website? Yes — one dofollow link in your author bio. Links within the article body must be to relevant external resources or internal Money Map Journal pages, not promotional links to your own products or services.
Can I republish the article on my own site after it goes live? No. We only accept original content and it must remain exclusive to Money Map Journal. You are welcome to write a summary or a different angle on your own site and link back to the full article here.
Do you accept sponsored guest posts? Yes, but they are handled separately through our Advertise page. Sponsored posts are clearly disclosed and priced accordingly.
What topics are you currently looking for? We are particularly interested in articles covering real investing experiences, practical family budgeting, salary negotiation stories, and side hustle case studies with specific numbers.
